How to get pathology results into EzyVet patient histories
EasyPath makes emailed pathology results easy to read in patient timeline tables and print inline in shared histories, without opening multiple PDFs. It handles reports from Aurora Veterinary Pathology, QML, Vetnostics and ASAP laboratories, and any lab using the ezyVet labs-to-email integration.
What this workflow does
EasyPath receives an emailed PDF at a unique clinic inbox, converts the result tables into structured text, and sends the converted report to the destination email address you configure. For an EzyVet workflow, configure that destination according to your clinic’s existing emailed-results setup so the report reaches the correct patient history. The original PDF remains the source to consult for critical values.
Important: EasyPath is an independent service, not an official EzyVet integration. Your clinic must configure the appropriate email destination and confirm that reports reach the intended record before relying on automated delivery.
Set it up in four steps
- Create your EasyPath clinic inbox. After signing up, open Inbound Email settings to find your clinic’s unique forwarding address.
- Choose the destination. Enter the email address your clinic uses to receive converted results. If EzyVet routes results by emailed destination or subject, check your clinic’s configuration and test with a sample report.
- Forward supported lab PDFs. Ask Aurora Veterinary Pathology, QML, Vetnostics, ASAP laboratories or any lab using the ezyVet labs-to-email integration to CC your EasyPath address, or set a forwarding rule on your own mailbox. Keep the original lab email in your normal inbox.
- Check the first converted result. Confirm the patient record, units, reference ranges and flagged results against the original attachment. If a report fails, review its status in the EasyPath console.
Which reports are supported?
EasyPath supports emailed PDF pathology reports from Aurora Veterinary Pathology, QML, Vetnostics and ASAP laboratories, and any lab using the ezyVet labs-to-email integration. The input must include a PDF attachment. Configure the destination for your clinic and confirm the first report reaches the correct patient record.
Common questions
Do I need EzyVet API access?
No. This workflow relies on email delivery rather than a direct API connection. Your clinic still needs a working destination for results to appear in the right patient history.
What if conversion fails?
The console explains failures and the next safe action. Retry is available only for safe failures with a retained PDF. If delivery was definitively rejected, check the destination address before retrying. If the PDF is unavailable, forward the original lab email again. Stored PDFs are deleted after successful delivery.
If delivery is uncertain, check the destination inbox and contact support; ordinary Retry is disabled to avoid duplicates. Reports rejected because the processing quota was reached are not stored and must be forwarded again once processing is available.
Receiving the original lab email in your normal inbox depends on retaining your clinic's normal email-routing setup. EasyPath does not provide that separate delivery.
Should clinicians check the converted report?
Yes. Review important findings against the original PDF, especially if a result influences immediate patient care.
